RAFTING in the VAR valley (Alpes maritimes 06) and the VERDON Gorges (Castellane 04)
White water rafting close to Nice and the Verdon river.
In Spring : discover the rafting on the Var river.
The VAR : It is from the village of Puget-Théniers and Entrevaux that the Var river grants many rafting areas. In Spring when the snow is melting, the water level increase and the Var is transformed into an extremely playful river.
In Summer the water level falls and only the kayak is possible on the Var river.
Summer : rafting in the Verdon Gorges
The Verdon is the most famous river of the South of France. The descent in rafting offers an exploration of a splendid natural environment.
In Summer (July and August) the water level is adjusted by a dam. White water activities are possible only on Tuesday and Friday and the departure is from the village of Castellane.
No experience is required, just climb in the raft and thanks to the presence of a certified guide on board, safely ride the river and enjoy a sunny landscape.
For a more sporty experience do not hesitate : try the kayak discovery ( single or double kayak) or according to the water level, the rafting adventure awaits you !
Rafting discovery :
Var valley / Verdon gorges
- half day (beginers or sport person)
- In spring for the Var and july / august for the Verdon
The spring and the summer, the rafting « discovery » is possible on :

The Var : from May till the middle of July

The Verdon : only on july and august every thursday and friday on release of water of the dam.
With the equipment, the safety talk and the shuttle return matter approximately 3 hours
- 1H30 of descent on the river
- A shuttle in minibus is assured to drive you back to the starting point
Course nivel 2 passage 3
- Available to all
- Be able to swim
- From 8 years old
Recent equipment in standard european
- Complete wetsuit or shorty depending of the weather.
- Collective equipment : telephone and first-aid kit, waterproof bag…
The equipment is rinsed and desinfected in Bacterless after every exit.
- Closed sport shoes (obligatory)
- Swimsuit
- A bottle of water
